Communiquer efficacement avec des partenaires internationaux est une compétence essentielle dans le monde des affaires.

Dans une entreprise internationale, vous pouvez être amené à échanger avec des clients, fournisseurs, partenaires, consultants ou collègues venant de différents pays.

Ces échanges peuvent avoir lieu lors d'une réunion, d'un appel vidéo, d'un événement professionnel, d'un salon international ou simplement lors d'une conversation informelle.

Communication objective

International communication tip

If you are speaking with someone who is not a native English speaker, use clear sentences and avoid unnecessary idioms, slang and overly complicated vocabulary.

Checking understanding

Lors d'un événement professionnel ou d'une première rencontre, il est important de savoir engager naturellement la conversation.

How long have you been working with...? Depuis combien de temps travaillez-vous avec... ?
What brings you to this event? Qu'est-ce qui vous amène à cet événement ?
What does your company specialise in? Dans quoi votre entreprise est-elle spécialisée ?
It's great to finally meet you in person. C'est un plaisir de vous rencontrer enfin en personne.

The 3-step conversation technique

1. Ask a question.
2. Listen carefully to the answer.
3. Follow up with another relevant question.

This creates a real exchange instead of a simple question-and-answer sequence.
